Young event rider Nicole LeMay who suffered a traumatic brain injury while riding on February 17th, today remained off a breathing ventilator. Nicole has been transferred out of the ICU to the neuro unit at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Unfortunately, she has still not awakened.
Here is a report from close friends who visited her today….”So many are praying and asking about our friend Nicole. We saw her today and want to give you an update. They have taken her off of ALL supports except the feeding tube and she is fully sustaining herself. She had her first physical therapy today where they sat her up in a chair. Nicole is responding to pain, coughing, and expressing dissatisfaction with the neck brace and arm bracelet by furrowing her brow.
However, she is not opening her eyes or speaking. She is still in a state of unconsciousness. So KEEP PRAYING and sending your positive energy and love her way. She can hear us so we are telling her how much she is loved…and also a few jokes! – and let’s not forget the gossip she loves! “
Nicole’s family has expressed their sincere gratitude for everyone’s amazing and generous support and asked for that the prayers and good vibes keep coming!
Nicole’s mother Michelle will be a guest on the Horses In The Morning Radio Show safety episode on Tuesday February 24th at 9.30am EST to share an update on her daughter’s progress. To learn how to listen to the show live, visit www.horseradionetwork.com/how-to-listen/
